Why this exercise is great: This exercise is a great way to get a meeting or a workshop started because it allows you to get a feel of the room in a creative and unexpected way. Once everyone has picked an image, ask them to share what they resonated with, how it makes them feel, and why they picked it. Lay all the images out and ask team members to each pick one that resonates with their current mood. The images should show landscapes, cities, people, shapes, or animals in a variety of colors and perspectives. You can collect newspaper clippings, magazine cutouts, postcards, and posters or print out different images from the internet (Pinterest is a great spot). How to play: Prepare a variety of images before you play. You can play multiple rounds if the stories are on the shorter side or let team members elaborate on their stories to gain deeper insight into their lives. Why this exercise is great: This is a fun twist on a stress-free and simple icebreaker that gives everyone the chance to share a personal story with their team. This can be anything from learning how to ride a bike to landing your first job. Ask every team member to draw a coin from the box and share a story, memory, or otherwise significant thing that happened to them that year. How to play: You’ll need a box full of pennies (or other coins) with years only as old as your youngest team member (not the time to brag about your 1937 collector’s penny). The details you share can be used as building blocks for late conversations (“What else did you do in Costa Rica?”) to give you a better idea of who you’re working with. Why this exercise is great: This game is perfect for groups who don’t know each other well yet. The more memorable the facts (e.g., I went skydiving in Costa Rica) and the more believable the lies (e.g., I have two dogs), the more fun the game will be! Then, ask each team member to present their three statements and have the group vote on which one they think is the lie. How to play: Ask everyone in the group to come up with two facts about themselves and one lie. You can play them to get everyone up to speed for a meeting (especially on those 8am calls) or use them to introduce new team members. Icebreaker questions and activities are the perfect “getting to know you” games but they’re also fun to play with teammates you’ve known for a long time. ![]() Ultimately, the best team building activity will be the one that everyone can enjoy. If you have introverts on the team, they may not be as excited about an exercise that involves lots of social interaction and do better in small groups. Plus, the activity may feel more authentic because a professional is guiding you. Depending on the type of team building activity, you may benefit from hiring an outside expert to facilitate a team building event that everyone can participate in. Inclusive team building means including everyone. Whether you’re working on building an inclusive remote culture or want in-person teams to feel more comfortable together, consider the following for an inclusive team building experience: It’s essential to make any team activity feel productive and enjoyable for the entire group, regardless of personalities or skill sets. Teams with an inclusive culture tend to be more transparent, supportive, and happy because everyone feels accepted. Whether you’re looking for indoor or outdoor activities, quick icebreaker games, or activities to bond with your remote team members, we compiled a list of over 45 team building games that you’ll actually enjoy. They bring everyone together outside of the typical working environment, building better relationships that ultimately lead to better team collaboration.Īs Ashley Frabasilio, Employee Engagement Manager at Asana puts it, “Creating a shared experience for teams to build relationships is one of the best ways to increase trust and encourage collaboration." Of course, the premiere episode of Season 3, “Stark Raving Dad,” recently made headlines when the show’s chief creative team-including Jean, who co-wrote and produced the episode with Reiss- decided to pull it after seeing the documentary Leaving Neverland, wherein James Safechuck and Wade Robson recounted, in graphic detail, the child sexual abuse they allegedly suffered at the hands of music legend Michael Jackson. Jackson's body was found on August 12, 1961, in the trunk of his own car, which had been abandoned on Lower Wacker Drive in Chicago. Then they left him for three days until he finally succumbed to his wounds. They stripped him naked, smashed his kneecaps with a bat, one of them shot him with a gun, broke his ribs, stuck him with sharp objects, used a cattle prod on his penis and anus making him evacuate his bowels, burned parts of his body with a blow torch. These studies were conducted by targeting relevant potential wound repair mechanisms such as the activation of epithelial cells- or fibroblasts proliferation and migration, the inhibition of reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and the modulation of inflammatory mediators. In recent years, several researchers have investigated various kinds of natural products with regard to their wound-healing properties. Therefore, an attempt to identify any remedies that could effectively accelerate skin wound healing would be of significant interest. These factors include infection, necrotic tissue, vascular supply, co-existing physical factors (nutritional status), and disease states (diabetes, cancer, and arthritis). Despite the fact that the regular wound-healing process can simultaneously occur, many of intrinsic and extrinsic factors can interfere with the wound-healing process that can then result in an ultimate delay of wound repair. These steps contribute to the restoration of skin functions and mechanistically required the proliferation, migration, and differentiation of keratinocytes at the margins of the wound. Not only fibroblasts that are essential for the wound-healing process, but keratinocytes are indeed involved in critical steps, such as the epidermal regeneration and the closure of the wound. Fibroblast cells play an important role in facilitating the proliferative stage via the production of various enzymes that degrade the fibrin clot, then replace it with extracellular matrix (ECM) components (such as collagen and hyaluronic acid) and infiltrate the margins of the wound. Acute and chronic wounds involve a variety of interactions with components of the dermis and epidermal regeneration. Regarding the cellular mechanism of the wound-healing process, tremendous progress has been made in recent years in identifying the critical events responsible for wound healing. This step is essential in establishing the greater tensile strength of the skin. Lastly, the remodeling step involves the remodeling and realignment of the collagen tissue. In addition, at the epidermal layer, keratinocytes are the cells responsible for epithelialization of the stratum corneum at skin layer resulting in the epidermal regeneration and the wound contraction. This process is characterized by the involvement of the cells embedded in the skin layers including specialized fibroblasts, which secrete a collagen framework onto the dermal skin layer in order to facilitate dermal regeneration. On approximately the 4th day after wounding, the proliferation phase begins. ![]() The second step involves the inflammation utilized by neutrophils and macrophages in response to tissue injury via cytokine release and phagocytosis. ![]() Hemostasis is the first immediate step that occurs at the wound site and requires platelets to repair damaged blood vessels through the process of blood clotting. In brief, there are four stages of the wound-healing process. The wound-healing process is a complex sequence of cellular and molecular processes that consist of inflammation, new tissue formation, and tissue remodeling. Overall, our results indicate that the wound-healing activities of AAP can be applied in an AAP-based product for wound management. Specifically, the AAP significantly accelerated the wound closure in a mice skin wound-healing model on day 9 (2.5%AAP, p = 0.031 vs. AAP significantly promoted both fibroblast and keratinocyte proliferation, migration, and invasion, along with augmentation of the wound-healing process by increasing collagen synthesis and decreasing E-cadherin expression (All p < 0.05). AAP displayed antioxidant activity in vitro and was able to abort UVB-induced intracellular ROS production in human fibroblasts in cellulo. The main sugar composition of AAP includes mannose, galactose, and glucose. AAP contained high amounts of polysaccharides (349.83 ± 5.00 mg/g extract) with a molecular weight of 158 kDa.
